The Rural Electrification Agency and GEF-UNDP is collaborating to implement the Derisking Sustainable Off-grid Lighting Solutions (DSOLS) in Nigeria Project, aimed at promoting private sector investment in sustainable off-grid lighting technologies by supporting the establishment of a sound policy environment that facilitates the creation of self-functioning and sustainable market in Nigeria.

The project will directly support the implementation of the Rural Electrification Strategy and Implementation Plan (2016) and the energy access targets in the SE4All Investment Prospectus by making off-grid renewable energy technologies available to base-of-pyramid rural households who would not be electrified at least until after 2025.

The Networking Fair and Tender Capacity Building Workshop, aims to bring together key stakeholders from the private sector, government agencies, and relevant organisations to promote investment opportunities and share experiences and best practices in the Offgrid (solar home system) sector in Nigeria and, highlight the provision of equipment and services to Micro, Small, Medium, Enterprises (MSMEs) through a competitive procurement process by discussing the Project requirements.
